Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What can I expect on my first visit?
    • From the moment you step foot into our lobby, you can expect to be greeted by our friendly staff who are there to answer your questions and walk you through your visit. You will need to fill out a short patient information sheet before you head in to get an x-ray of your teeth (patient info sheet can also be downloaded from our site and brought with you). Since the office uses a digital x-ray machine, the whole process is quick and painless. After the x-ray is done, Dr. Robles will perform a comprehensive examination. After the examination, if there is any dental treatment needed, it can be performed the same day. The entire process from filling out the form through the examination will not take long, so you will be in and out of the office in a flash!

  • I'm a new patient, what should I bring with me?
    • As a new patient, we will need to collect your basic patient information and dental history, so you can either fill out the appropriate forms ahead of time by downloading them from our site, or fill them out in the office. You will also want to make sure you bring your ID, Insurance Card (if applicable), a list of medication that you're currently taking, and any other insurance information that you have.

  • How long will my appointment take?
    • This depends on the type of appointment, the work required and whether there is any additional dental treatment required. Additional dental treatment can usually be performed the same day.

  • Do you accept walk-ins
    • Yes! Walk-ins are always welcome, but if you are on a tight schedule, you may want to call ahead for an appointment to guarantee your time frame.

  • When is payment for my appointment due?
    • Payment is due upon completion of any service, so we request that you come prepared to pay for your appointment before you leave.

  • What type of payments do you accept?
    • We gladly accept the following forms of payment for your appointment:

      • Personal Check
      • Cash
      • Credit Cards - American Express, Mastercard, Visa, Discover
      • Most Debit cards
      • CareCredit - download the form from our site and bring with you to your appointment, or fill the form out in our office and be approved within 3 minutes
      • Medical Insurances - Almost all PPO Plans and Indemnity Insurances, no HMO's. Most commonly accepted are: Delta Dental (25 different Delta Dental plans accepted), MetLife, Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, Cigna, and Guardian. Call for specifics.
  • What is your appointment cancellation policy?
    • We ask that you notify us a minimum of 24 hours in advance so that we can reschedule another appointment. We do have a penalty of $25 for missed appointments if we receive no cancellation notice.

  • How often should I see a dentist?
    • We recommend that you schedule an appointment for a check-up and cleaning every 6 months. This is to ensure proper maintenance of the teeth and a regular cleaning helps prevent tooth decay and other potential dental problems.

  • How old should my child be before I schedule their first Dental appointment?
    • At Dr. Robles Family dental, we believe that it is very important to introduce a child to a dentist at a very young age so that they learn proper dental care when they are young. In order to maintain their teeth and prevent tooth decay, most dentists recommend scheduling their first appointment as soon as they get their first teeth and start eating food that they can chew, which is typically around when they are 2-3 years old.

  • How often should I brush and floss?
    • We recommend that you brush your teeth at least 3 times a day, after every meal, to remove food particles and prevent plaque build-up. Pair this with flossing at least once a day to ensure proper tooth maintenance.

  • I want to get my teeth whitened, but there are a lot of options out there. What do you recommend as the best product or procedure for teeth whitening?
    • The fastest and best results are an in-house, 1-hour whitening procedure. At Dr. Robles Family Dental we provide Philips Zoom!® one-hour whitening procedures to enable you to walk home with a smile that is up to 8 shades brighter. After the whitening procedure, the staff at Dr. Robles Family Dental will be glad to give recommendations on which whitening home kits and toothpastes are best for maintining whitening. It is advised that you consult with Dr. Robles before setting a whitening appointment, as there are many different reasons for tooth discoloration and many factors that play into which kind of tooth whitening is best for you.

  • I am missing a few teeth. What is the best fix for this?
    • It is our goal to find the best solution for each individual patient. Since there are a variety of factors that can lead to missing teeth (such as bone loss or periodontal problems), the evaluation of individual needs can lead to different solutions. Two of the most common fixes to missing teeth are bridges or implants, but each individual case should be diagnosed by Dr. Robles.

  • What is the cost for a simple cleaning?
    • The cost of cleaning appointments vary, depending on prior dental problems. A cleaning appointment consists of x-rays, an examination, and a complete clean of the teeth. If you are interested in getting an estimate before your appointment, please feel free to call and ask one of our friendly staff for an estimate.
